When we enter The White Deer we can read Not really an artist or an anybody but just somebody. Both this quote and her delicate and exquisite work made me google Peony Yip.
This young lady lives in Hong Kong and doesn´t feel so different from anyone else. Even professionaly she still feels as an 'imperfect amateur' with plenty to learn and improve, and she intends to keep working on illustration in a pleasurable way to see where that can takes her.
Admittedly shy and closed off, she feels specially amazed by animals and their genuine way of living and acting. Even the name she gave herself as an illustrator The White Deer is a reflex of her favorite colour and animal.

Esta senhorita vive em Hong Kong e não se considera especial nem diferente de qualquer outra pessoa. Mesmo a nível profissional sente-se ainda uma 'amadora imperfeita', com muito para aprender e melhorar, e que tenciona continuar a trabalhar com ilustração maioritariamente por prazer e para entender até onde o seu trabalho a pode levar.
Assumidamente tímida e fechada, sente-se especialmente encantada pela postura dos animais e forma pela forma genuína como estes vivem e agem. O próprio nome com que decidiu assinar o seu trabalho The White Deer (O Veado Branco) foi escolhido em função do seu animal e cor favoritos.
