Dear readers... I'm back ;) For the last couple of weeks I've been missing my posts, but now I promise that I'll bring you a lot of news!

In the last 9 days I've been doing a very cool trip through Miami and the Bahamas, a perfect break from those frozen winter days. Today I leave you with the first part of my trip:

Queridos leitores... Voltei :) Nas últimas semanas tenho falhado com os meus posts, mas agora prometo trazer-vos uma serie de novidades!

Nos ultimos 9 dias fiz uma viagem por Miami e Bahamas, a escapadinha perfeita nestes gelados dias de Inverno. Hoje deixo-vos com a primeira parte da minha viagem:

With a very sunny first day the plan was, after a short rest from a 9h flight, to take a walk outside the hotel and to enjoy the beach... The SLS Hotel has small rooms, but a huge charm. Located on the heart of South Beach and with the touch of Philippe Starck the details are gorgeous! And at this time of the year the beach is quiet with irresistibly warm water...

Com um primeiro dia solarengo o plano foi, depois de um curto descanso de um voo de 9h, dar uma caminhada pela zona do hotel e aproveitar a praia... O SLS Hotel tem quartos pequenos mas um charme gigante. Localizado no coração de South Beach e com o toque de Philippe Starck os detalhes são adoraveis! E nesta altura do ano a praia é sossegada com água irresistivelmente morna...

Day 2: Raining! After a perfect day at the beach Miami decided to wake up gray... PAMM was the destination for the day. Pérez Art Museum Miami is a modern and contemporary art museum dedicated to collecting and exhibiting international art of the 20th and 21st centuries.

Dia 2: Chuva! Depois de um dia de praia perfeito Miami decidiu acordar cinzenta... PAMM foi o destino do dia. Pérez Art Museum Miami é um museu de arte moderna e contemporânea dedicado a coleccionar e expor arte internacional dos séculos XX e XXI.

Up: A Humument, 1966 by Tom Phillips is one of my favorites. A Humument is an altered novel, begun in 1966 and first published in 1970. Phillips paints, draws and collages over the pages of an obscure 1892 novel – WH Mallock's A Human Document – leaving gaps for the original but transformed text to show through. It is lovely...

É maravilhoso...

As the day was dedicated to Art, at night we went to Wynwood Art District, where you can find these amazing walls full of street art, as an open air gallery. A Must-Go!! And for dinner I recommend you the Wynwood Kitchen & Bar...

Como o dia foi dedicado à Arte, à noite o destino foi o Wynwood Art District, onde se encontram as paredes preenchidas com street art, ao estilo de uma galeria ao ar livre. Um Must-Go!! E para jantar recomendo o Wynwood Kitchen & Bar...

Day 3: The Art Deco District! As the day was rainy again we went for a walk through Art Deco District, full of eye candy pastel buildings, most built between 1923 and 1943.

Dia 3: The Art Deco District! Como o dia estava novamente chuvoso fomos à descoberta do Art Deco District, repleto de edificios em tons pastel, maior parte construídos entre 1923 e 1943.

And at night, dinner at Espanola Way... With typical cuban restaurants.

E à noite, jantar na Espanola Way... Com restaurantes tipicamente cubanos.

4th and last day in Miami... Before leaving we went for a short ride through different places, as downtown, Little Havana, and the residential area were you can find the amazing Banyan Trees.

4º e último dia em Miami... Antes de partirmos demos uma breve volta de carro para conhecer diferentes sítios como o centro da cidade, Little Havana e zona mais residencial onde se podem encontrar as incríveis arvores Banyan.

Finally, in a tourist trap funny way, we decided to go in a boat tour to Star Island, where you can see the huge mansions that some celebrities own or have owned (such as Gloria Estefan, Shaquille O'Neil, Madonna, Elizabeth Taylor, Edith Piaf, Al Capone...) ! It's really weird (and wrong, I think) that they use the private properties as tourist attraction, but we couldn't resist to this surreal experience...

Finalmente, em jeito de uma cómica tourist trap, decidimos fazer uma tour de barco a Star Island, onde se pode ver as gigantescas mansões que algumas celebridades têm ou tiveram (como a Gloria Estefan, Shaquille O'Neil, Madonna, Elizabeth Taylor, Edith Piaf, Al Capone...)! É muito estranho (e errado, acho eu) que usem propriedades privadas como atracção turística, mas não resistimos a viver esta experiência surreal...
